The Director General of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Mohammad Karaki, issued instructions on Monday to the relevant financial departments to transfer 131 billion Lebanese pounds to hospitals for the payment of treatment for dialysis patients, bringing the total amount paid since the beginning of the year to 521 billion pounds.

He also called on the heads of regional and local offices to work as quickly as possible to finalize health insurance transactions for policyholders. This periodic procedure is part of the concerted efforts of the authorities concerned to ensure adequate health coverage for policyholders, particularly dialysis patients, and to continue to provide them with 100% coverage.

At the same time, Karaki renewed his appeal to certain hospitals that have not yet committed themselves, to carry out the surgical procedures, especially as the new amended version of the tariffs, which will be published in the coming weeks, will reconsider the value of the surgical procedures so that the NSSF contribution represents between 80 and 90% of the actual cost of around 260 surgical procedures.
