Caretaker Minister of Finance Youssef Khalil gave instructions on Wednesday to disburse one thousand billion Lebanese pounds as an advance on the fees allocated to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS), under the 2024 budget, which amount to three thousand billion Lebanese pounds. The Ministry will pay the remaining amount on a monthly basis.
This decision was taken following a meeting between Khalil and the President of the General Confederation of Lebanese Workers (CGTL), Bechara Asmar, and the Director General of the CNSS, Mohammad Karaki.
Karaki assured that the 1,000 billion pounds, in addition to the contributions that will be collected as a result of the increase in salaries, will enable the CNSS to considerably increase its benefits.
