Omar Itani, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Port of Beirut, was keen to clarify on Wednesday that the container stacking process inside the port that the Food Importers’ Syndicate President referred to was caused by a strike by department employees of relevant ministries, such as those of Agriculture and Economy, and was not due to a strike by port employees.
