Traffic at Beirut International Airport increased significantly in August, with a total of 915,000 passengers traveling to and from Beirut, compared to 796,543 in August 2022, accounting for a year-on-year increase of 14.88%.

The number of arrivals in Lebanon rose by 18.75%, recording 610,380 passengers. The number of departures from Lebanon rose by 12.38% (533,947 passengers), while the number of transit passengers decreased by 44.24% (528 passengers).

From the beginning of June until the end of August 2023, the total number of passengers reached 2,548,058, compared to 2,201,237 during the same period last year, reflecting an increase of around 16%.

Similarly, the number of flights by airlines–domestic, Arab and foreign–using the airport last August was up 10.63% compared to July 2022, reaching 6,542 flights, including 3,275 to Beirut (+10.6%) and 3,267 departures from Lebanon (+10.67%).

From the beginning of the year until August 31, the total number of passengers reached 5,025,047, compared to 4,189,247 during the same period last year, an increase of around 20%.
