The Minister of Economy and Trade in the caretaker government Amin Salam signed a memorandum of understanding with the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture on Wednesday, July 12, ushering in the preparations for Lebanon’s participation in Expo Qatar 2023 which takes place between October 2, 2023 and March 28, 2024.

Salam emphasized the importance of the MoU which stipulates a close partnership between the Ministry of Economy and the private sector “which is be the backbone for a successful exhibition and will reflect Lebanon’s image to all participating countries in Doha.”

“The partnership between the public and private sectors is essential for the success of the Lebanese economy in all external initiatives and conferences,” Salam said, noting that the Ministry of Agriculture will be a key partner in the Doha exhibition.

Salam expressed gratitude to the State of Qatar for their “sponsorship and great support to Lebanon in Expo Qatar at all levels.”

He underlined the “great efforts” deployed by the Lebanese Ambassador in Doha to ensure the success of Lebanon’s participation in Expo Qatar which, he said, “will be our top priority until the Expo’s inauguration.”

“The Expo will provide us with the opportunity to show the true image of Lebanon through its agricultural products and advanced food industries,” Salam added.
