The Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) has exceptionally extended the term of the Chairman of its Board of Directors Salim Sfeir for an extra year.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, June 20, ABL announced that following an extraordinary general meeting of banks operating in Lebanon, it “was decided, on an exceptional basis, to extend the term of office of the members of the board of directors elected by the general meeting held on June 29, 2021, for a period of one year, which will end on the date of the ordinary general meeting that deliberates on the financial statements for the year 2023.”

The board of directors of ABL, which was founded in 1959, comprises Chairman Salim Sfeir, Vice-Chairman Nadim Kassar, Secretary Walid Raphael, Treasurer Abdel Razzak Achour and members Samir Hanna, Tanal Sabbah, Joseph Torbey, Antoun Sehnaoui, Raya Haffar El Hassan, Ghassan Assaf, Semaan Bassil and Saad Azhari. The secretary general of ABL is Fadi Khalaf.
