Nearly 30,000 people gathered on Saturday evening at Château de Chambord, Loir-et-Cher, to see star DJ David Guetta’s show, as part of the third edition of the “Chambord Live” Festival. Shortly after 10 PM, the 56-year-old DJ started his show with his hits, including Sexy Bitch, Memories and Satisfaction, a remix of Benny Benassi, featuring impressive visual and pyrotechnic effects, eliciting enthusiasm from the crowd, an AFP correspondent observed. Around 11 PM, rain appeared, prompting the audience to bring out umbrellas and raincoats.
Before the show, the DJ expressed his excitement about performing in the special setting of Château de Chambord. “Every time I play in France, I feel a special emotion. I tremble as if it were my first concert. Here, the castle is incredible. I just climbed the double-helix staircase designed by Leonardo da Vinci. It’s very moving. Being here gives us all energy and positivity. I want people to share a true moment of happiness with me!” he told an AFP correspondent. “Spectators have traveled thousands of kilometers to come to the concert. It touches me enormously. My music has accompanied happy moments for many people. Marking even anecdotal moments of life is a wonderful reward for an artist,” he said. “In Chambord, as elsewhere, I gather fans who have been following me for 22 years. Yet, my core audience is between 18 and 22 years old. The miracle is that my music continues to speak to the young,” he said.
Wearing a blue cap, Dorothée settled in front of the stage. This 41-year-old secretary in a home help service had traveled from Villeneuve-sur-Lot with her 16-year-old daughter. “We left after my workday on Friday. We slept in the car last night. After the concert, we’ll do the same!” the mother smiled. “David Guetta’s music represents the happy moments of our life,” she said.
Léandre, a second-year master’s student in digital marketing and communication in Cambrai, hurried to the barriers to be as close as possible to his idol. “Being here, I could almost cry!” said this 24-year-old fan. His parents bought him a ticket for 133 euros. They also booked two nights in a hotel in Blois to stay and visit the surroundings. “Seeing my idol in such a setting was unimaginable!” confessed the young man, who had already applauded the artist eight times. “I’ve been a fan since I was eight years old. I have all his albums. He is a major artist, one of the most famous French people in the world.” After Sting in 2022 and Imagine Dragons in September, this is the third edition of “Chambord Live.”
