Ehdeniyat International Festival returns for its 20th edition this summer, running from July 18 to July 28. Over the past two decades, Ehdeniyat has become a major cultural event, highlighting Ehden’s unique position and affirming the importance of art and generosity in the face of adversity.

Ehdeniyat’s diverse program this year ensures that there is something for everyone. The festival welcomes a diverse audience with a program that caters to all ages and interests. The concert series begins with Rahbaniyat, a tribute to the legendary Elias Rahbani and his impact on Lebanese music. The opening night on July 18 will feature a performance led by Ghassan Rahbani. Other highlights include a performance by Lebanese star Abir Nehme on July 20, a special concert by Arab sensation Nassif Zeytoun on July 25, and a Lebanese theatrical performance, Merry Cream directed by Nabil Al Arakji on July 21. The program also includes a tarab evening with Mayada El Hennawy on July 27, and a lively dance performance with Dancing Moon II on July 28. Two free children’s shows, Ghinwa on July 22 and Luna on July 24, in partnership with UNICEF, will also be part of the festival.

The Lebanese theatrical scene will be represented by Merry Cream, directed by Nabil Al Arakji, on July 21. Music lovers can look forward to a tarab night with the Arab icon Mayada El Hennawy on July 27. The festival will conclude with the energetic dance performance Dancing Moon II on July 28, ensuring that the event ends on a high note. For the younger audience, the festival includes two free children’s shows in collaboration with UNICEF. Ghinwa will perform on July 22, followed by Luna on July 24, bringing joy and entertainment to the festival’s youngest attendees.

Ehdeniyat’s commitment to social responsibility has been a cornerstone of its mission since its inception. By dedicating the festival’s proceeds to meaningful causes, it emphasizes the role of art in fostering community and resilience. This year’s focus on restoring the Dawwar Al-Shams theater in Beirut underscores this dedication, inviting all those who feel connected to join the cause and help maintain Beirut’s status as a pioneer in the theatrical domain.
