Rebirth Beirut recently announced the opening of Daniel Abillama’s solo exhibition titled “LINK.” The exhibition will be held at the association’s cultural center in Gemmayze from June 20 to June 26, 2024.
The “LINK” exhibition will showcase Daniel Abillama’s exploration of childhood memories and familial connections through his vibrant and evocative artworks.
The artist’s journey is diverse and inspiring. Although he began his career as a painter in 2018, it took him 15 years of diligent work and dedication to reach this point. “I am a self-taught painter. After a year of training in decoration and plastic arts, I worked in various genres such as cubism and impressionism before arriving at abstract art. I firmly believe that all contemporary art must find its roots in the basics. The painter can then create his own technique without pretension,” he confides.
When it comes to choosing colors, Daniel Abillama relies purely on intuition. “I handle colors according to the inspiration of the moment,” he says. This instinctive approach results in a unique and deeply personal style that resonates with viewers on an emotional level. His paintings are just visual experiences intertwined with emotional journeys that invite the audience to explore their own memories and connections.
The exhibition will feature oil and acrylic paintings on canvas, reflecting Daniel Abillama’s deep thoughts and emotional experiences. His works are characterized by spontaneity and creativity that celebrate the beauty of creation. Each piece in the “LINK” exhibition is meticulously crafted to convey a sense of connection, be it between people, places or moments in time. The artist’s use of bold colors and dynamic compositions creates a visual dialogue that is both engaging and thought-provoking.
