The Byblos International Festival promises an unforgettable summer in 2024, with an eclectic program showcasing renowned Lebanese and Egyptian artists over five exceptional evenings.
In the prestigious setting of the Byblos Sur Mer Hotel, the Byblos International Festival unveiled its 2024 program during a press conference attended by caretaker Minister of Tourism Walid Nassar. Raphaël Sfeir, president of the festival committee, emphasized the importance of maintaining this key cultural event despite challenging economic and security conditions, highlighting the efforts made to achieve financial balance in the face of rising costs and taxes.
For this new edition, the festival has chosen to honor the richness of the Lebanese and Egyptian artistic scenes by offering five exceptional evenings featuring talented artists. The festival will kick off on July 18 with Le Grand Spectacle—Byblos Edition, an ambitious creation by Lebanese composer Tony Makhoul. Over 100 artists, musicians, dancers and singers accompanied by the prestigious Philharmonic Orchestra will perform on stage for a moment of grace and emotion.
The following day, July 19, will be dedicated to rock with the Egyptian band Cairokee and its charismatic members: Amir Eid on vocals, Sherif Hawary on guitar, Tamer Hashem on drums, Sherif Mostafa on keyboards and Adam El-Alfy on bass. Their infectious energy is sure to ignite the audience. On July 21, spectators will be treated to a journey into virtuosity with a concert by Lebanese pianist Michel Fadel, a true reference in his field.
The sensational Nancy Ajram, a pop icon in the Arab world and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, will perform her greatest hits on July 26, much to the delight of her fans. The festival will conclude on July 27 with Ash, an Egyptian-Montreal artist who will present an original multi-instrumental show, fusing his Egyptian roots with his love for electronic music. A collaboration with musician Guy Manoukian might also take place, pending date confirmation.
