Antoine and Latifa Moultaka, a legendary couple in Lebanese theater, were reunited in the afterlife after a lifetime dedicated to the stage. Married since 1959, they wrote around twenty plays together and trained numerous actors over nearly 60 years of their joint career.

On February 21, 2024, Antoine, considered the father of Lebanese theater, passed away at the age of 90, leaving behind a great void. But fate decreed that Latifa, his lifelong partner, would join him just 45 days later, unable to bear his absence.

Latifa Moultaka, born Chamoun, was an indispensable figure in Lebanese theater. A former professor at the Lebanese University, she left a mark on generations of actors and directors. Together with Antoine, they provided the Lebanese theatrical movement with committed works of great artistic quality.

The Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture at the Lebanese University mourns this pioneer who had a considerable impact on theater for decades, alongside her husband. Their duo contributed to nurturing many talents and producing significant plays, rich in thought, culture and aesthetics.

Latifa will remain in memory as a bright light of creativity that will never be extinguished. Her soul can rest in peace, reunited with that of her great love, Antoine. Their relatives and the theater world are mourning. Their love story and theatrical journey will forever be etched in hearts. Two soulmates inseparable even by death, who leave behind a beautiful life lesson. Latifa will be terribly missed, but one can envision the touching reunion of these lovers in the afterlife.

Together, Antoine and Latifa will continue to shine eternally in the sky of Lebanese theater. Their light will never go out. Rest in peace, mythical and inspiring couple. Your legacy is immense.
