The Devil Wears Prada, a new musical adaptation, will open at the Dominion Theatre in London’s West End in October 2024. This striking adaptation brings to the stage the high-stakes world of fashion journalism.

The plot, inspired by Lauren Weisberger’s best-selling 2003 novel and its following 2006 film adaptation starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, describes the fierce journey of young, ambitious journalist Andy. After securing her position at the famous ‘Runway’ magazine under the great Editor-in-Chief Miranda Priestly, Andy finds her personal life at stake.

Olivier Award winner Matt Henry will join the production. Henry will play the creative fashion director, Nigel. The actor showed his enthusiasm for his upcoming role, expressing his profound appreciation for the movie and the fashion industry. His target to honor prominent figures in fashion, such as Edward Enninful and the late André Leon Talley, highlights the value of his participation in the musical.

The cast also includes Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly, adding to the musical’s anticipation. The production boasts an original score by Elton John, an Olivier and Tony Award winner, with lyrics by Shaina Taub and a book by Kate Wetherhead. Directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, The Devil Wears Prada promises a thrilling theatrical experience that tackles the complexities of professional ambition against the backdrop of the glamorous yet merciless fashion industry.
