In the upcoming edition of “Art of Living,” which is rich in inspiration, a unique collaboration is unveiled between the “Artists of Beirut” and the French house, Inaltera. Among the highlights, the wallpaper collection by Sarah Saba, an architect and member of the Lebanese collective, promises to dazzle visitors.
One of the major attractions of the 2024 edition of “Art of Living” is the presentation by Inaltera of its new collection of panoramic wallpapers, displayed at the Geahchan Home stand. For more than six decades, Inaltera has enchanted walls with its unique creations, printed in Gironde, that blend retro charm with a decidedly modern aesthetic.
The end of 2023 marked the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between Inaltera and “Artists of Beirut,” who benefit this year from their own space within “Art of Living.” Sarah Saba, a talented architect and active member of “Artists of Beirut,” is the first to create a line of wallpapers for Inaltera, elegantly blending abstract geometric patterns with her artistic style.
Launched in 2020 by Carole Ayoub and Yara Jahchan, two art-loving friends, “Artists of Beirut” aims to promote Lebanese female talent across various artistic disciplines, in a spirit of sustainability and responsibility. Joining this collective, Sarah Saba found an exceptional platform to share her unique art.
“The art world can be unforgiving, and thanks to ‘Artists of Beirut,’ Carole and Yara provide Lebanese female artists with the essential visibility they so desperately need,” emphasizes the architect.
Geahchan Home shares this mission of valuing emerging Lebanese artists. Founded in 1928, this family-owned decoration and furnishing business has been promoting local talent for four years. “Mentalities have significantly changed in Lebanon and around the world. People now prefer to buy a local product that has a story, rather than something industrial,” explains Karim Geahchan, describing the ambition of Geahchan Home, also present on March 6.
The collaboration between Sarah Saba and Inaltera, supported by Geahchan Home, reflects a shift in mentality in Lebanon and globally: a clear preference for locally made products with history over industrial manufacturing. This creative partnership resulted in “Ecstatic Lightness,” a collection of wallpapers with a soft and soothing color palette, in which Sarah Saba’s organic forms come alive in an aerial ballet. Printed on high-quality matte non-woven fabric, the designs seamlessly blend into one another and invite an almost meditative contemplation.
