On the evening of October 14, 2023 in the heart of central eastern France, the city of Lyon witnessed the grand inauguration of the 15th edition of the Lumière Film Festival, an event that epitomizes cinematic brilliance. This illustrious ceremony, held in the cultural hub of the region, attracted stars from across the globe.

Preparations for the Lyon Lumière Film Festival ceremonial extravaganza were meticulous. The staff, with commendable diligence, set the stage for what promised to be an evening of glamour and celebration. Among the distinguished guests in attendance were notable figures such as Jean-Michel Aulas, the former president of the Olympique Lyonnais football club, renowned French actor Fabrice Luchini, eminent American-born British actor Terry Gilliam, acclaimed US director Wes Anderson and illustrious French actor Laurent Lafitte.

The ambiance of the ceremony was heightened when artists took to the stage, standing beneath a screen inscribed with the evocative word, “OPEN.” One of the focal points of the evening, Fabrice Luchini’s eloquent speech reverberated through the hall, encapsulating the essence of the film festival and setting the tone for the cinematic feasts that would ensue.
