The 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is set to unfurl its red carpet this Tuesday. Enthusiasts of the seventh art can relish this grand event until May 27, thanks to the media coverage provided by France Télévisions and Brut, privileged partners of the event. Moreover, the magic of Cannes can also be appreciated on various social media platforms, allowing for a complete immersion in the excitement of this unmissable rendezvous of global cinema.

Actress Chiara Mastroianni is set to preside over the prestigious opening and closing ceremonies of the Cannes Film Festival, broadcast by both France Télévisions and Brut. These two entities have established themselves as the official broadcasters of the festival, ending nearly three decades of partnership between the esteemed festival and Canal+.

The excitement is set to start at 6:50pm on May 16, as the opening ceremony is live broadcast on France 2. In parallel, Brut will provide an unprecedented experience by streaming the event on the TikTok app, as well as across all its digital platforms.

Those passionate about the 7th art will also be able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the Croisette by tuning in to TV Festival de Cannes. This joint venture by France Télévisions, Brut, and the festival will be accessible on the official Cannes Film Festival website.

The public broadcasting group has increased its coverage this year by offering a diverse daily programming. Indeed, the secondary part of the C à vous show on France 5 will be dedicated to Cannes, with live and public broadcasting from the festival city. Hosted by the brilliant Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine, this program will detail the key events of each festival day.

To complement this, Culturebox will offer Cannes Festival a daily show focused on summarizing the previous day’s festival events, especially those from the second part of the evening, each night from 7pm. Daphné Bürki, present on site, will host this additional offering.

Not only wit the Culturebox show summarize the festival events but will also highlight various other appointments such as press conferences, photocalls and masterclasses. Furthermore, other special programs will be broadcast from the festival, including Télématin, La grande librairie, Cannes chante le cinéma, Plan plan and C ce soir.

The Sunday show Beau geste, directed by the former festival president, Pierre Lescure, will also be featured. Initially conceived to launch the Cannes Film Festival, the praised show for its content and impact, according to France Télévisions, will be extended until the start of the new school year, as revealed by Michel Field, Director of Culture and Live Entertainment of the group.

Regarding the film aspect, the France.tv platform will offer a selection of about 35 films divided into various thematic collections during the festival. Additionally, a special mention goes to Culturebox which will broadcast a cult film and a short film on a daily basis. France 2, France 3, and France 5 will also enrich their programming with successful films such as Antoinette dans les Cévennes, No country for old men, Pale rider and Tout sur ma mère.

Brut, the online video media that targets a younger audience and enjoys broad international distribution, has announced that it will be live on the red carpet and will cover the festival’s photocalls and press conferences. For twelve days, Brut will offer exclusive content on all its platforms, notably strengthening its collaboration with TikTok, but will also be present on YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat – which will have its own show dedicated to the festival – as well as on Twitter and Facebook.

Brut has promised that Journalist Augustin Trapenard will add an additional dimension to the festival coverage by offering daily ten-minute interviews with the most prestigious festival guests. Brut also plans to leverage artificial intelligence technology by introducing new formats, such as having the competing films by two AI bots that will exchange live and make personalized predictions for each work.
