Ministers concerned with the Syrian migrants issue boycotted the meeting called by the caretaker Prime Minister’s advisor, Samir Daher, who was officially appointed by Najib Mikati to oversee the matter with the officials and the Director General of General Security.
Daher had prepared a study on the issue, which he intended to present to the ministers before starting its implementation. According to ministerial information, it has emerged that there is a strong disagreement within the government on this issue, hindering the resolution process.
It is also worthy noting that no Syrian officials, whether governmental or security-related, have visited Lebanon to establish a roadmap for the refugees’ return in agreement with Lebanese and Syrian authorities.
