The U.S. Department of State’s Rewards for Justice program has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the identification or location of Haydar Muzhir Ma’lak al-Sa’idi, a militia leader accused of orchestrating attacks against U.S. and allied targets in the Middle East.

In a post published on X , the official Rewards for Justice account stated that al-Sa’idi “leads a militia that has attacked U.S. diplomatic facilities and killed Iraqi civilians and U.S. servicemembers,” urging the public to submit information that could help locate him.

According to the State Department, al-Sa’idi is the leader and Secretary General of Harakat Ansar Allah al-Awfiya, an Iran-aligned armed group operating in Iraq. U.S. officials say members of the group have been involved in attacks targeting American diplomatic missions, military bases, and personnel across Iraq, as well as in neighboring countries including Jordan and Syria.

The U.S. government formally designated both al-Sa’idi and his organization under Executive Order 13224, which targets individuals involved in terrorism.

Harakat Ansar Allah al-Awfiya emerged in Iraq after 2014 as part of the broader mobilization against ISIS, but over time it evolved into a pro-Iran paramilitary faction operating within the country’s complex network of armed groups.

Since its formation, the group has taken part in regional conflicts, including operations along the Syria-Iraq border, and has been linked to numerous attacks targeting U.S. forces in the region. It has also developed a role inside Iraq that goes beyond purely military activity, becoming associated with political influence and militia operations within the country.
