The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a video on Friday of detained members of Hezbollah’s Radwan Unit who were planning to launch an anti-tank missile toward Israeli forces. They were transferred to Unit 504 for interrogation.
In the footage, detainees said they were being sent “to die” and that Hezbollah joined the war to avenge Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. They also described morale as extremely low, with “no one hav[ing] the energy to go out and fight.”
Other testimonies indicated coercion and exhaustion. Fighters said, “Those who come from their homes do so against their will; no one can refuse,” and added, “After a year and a half of war, now we have another battle on top of everything.”
The IDF announced in a statement that around 1,000 terrorists have been eliminated, including senior commanders.
On March 23, IDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Ella Waweya reported, “IDF forces arrested armed terrorists from Hezbollah’s Radwan Unit in southern Lebanon after their surrender.”
During operations by the Givati Brigade in southern Lebanon, forces identified several Radwan Unit militants planning to launch an anti-tank missile at Israeli forces. The militants also prepared a launch site for missiles aimed at northern Israeli towns.
