United Arab Emirates security authorities announced on Friday that they had dismantled a “terrorist network” allegedly funded and operated by Lebanon’s Hezbollah and backed by Iran. Officials said the network, operating under a fake commercial cover, was involved in money laundering, financing terrorism, and threatening national security, seeking to undermine financial stability.

Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry condemned the alleged plot, denouncing Hezbollah’s involvement and offering cooperation to hold those responsible accountable. It also reiterated a government decision earlier this month banning Hezbollah’s military and security activities. There was no immediate comment from Hezbollah or Iran.

The UAE case follows a similar incident in Kuwait, where authorities uncovered a Hezbollah-linked group allegedly planning acts against national security and seized weapons, ammunition, and drones. Hezbollah denied the Kuwaiti allegations, calling them baseless and insisting it has no presence or operational networks in Kuwait.

The developments come amid the ongoing U.S.-Israeli military campaign against Iran, which began on February 28. Since then, Tehran has launched missile and drone attacks across the Gulf. Hezbollah entered the conflict on March 2, firing on Israel from Lebanon, prompting Israeli strikes across Lebanon. The UAE has long opposed political Islamist groups, including Iran-backed Hezbollah.
