3. Trump to TIB: 'We've Got to Get Rid of Hezbollah'

U.S. President Donald Trump told This is Beirut, Wednesday, “we’ve got to get rid of Hezbollah,” describing the group as “a disaster for many years.”

“We're working on it very hard. We love Lebanon. We love the people of Lebanon, and we're working very hard.” 

While fielding questions on regional developments in Iran, Trump stressed that “they’ve lost their navy, they’ve lost their airforce, they have no anti-aircraft apparatus at all, they’ve lost their radar, their leaders are gone.” When asked about the selection of Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, Trump said that he didn’t want to speak on the subject.

When asked whether he advised oil companies to continue traversing the Strait of Hormuz, Trump responded, “I think they should.” The Strait is a crucial waterway which has seen escalating Iranian attacks on commercial shipping in recent days.
