A man and his three daughters were wounded by falling missile debris in Syria on Sunday from the exchange of fire between Iran and Israel over the country's airspace, Syrian state media reported.
"Four people, a father and three daughters, were wounded as a result of the fall of the missile debris resulting from the exchange of strikes between Israel and Iran, in the town of Ain Tarma in the Damascus province," the official SANA news agency said, quoting a health ministry official.
They were taken to hospital for treatment, the agency added.
It had previously reported two wounded.
Israel intercepted several Iranian missiles over Syria on Sunday, a Syrian interior ministry official told AFP, causing loud explosions that were heard in the capital Damascus.
"The loud explosion in Damascus was an Israeli interception of an Iranian missile," the official said earlier on Sunday, requesting anonymity.
He later said that the explosions heard at night were also "interceptions over the capital".
The US and Israel began attacking Iran on Saturday, triggering a retaliation from Tehran, which has been firing missiles at Israel and the Gulf since then.
Debris from missiles fell in southern Syria, which borders Israel, according to state media.
Syria, whose new authorities are hostile to Iran, extended the closure of its airspace on Sunday until Tuesday, the official SANA news agency reported.
Its national carrier on Saturday suspended all flights to and from the Damascus and Aleppo international airports until further notice.
Israel struck and destroyed much of the Syrian army's infrastructure including its air defences after the fall of longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad in 2024, to prevent it falling into the hands of the new Islamist authorities.
Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa meanwhile contacted several heads of Arab states that were targeted by Iranian missiles, expressing his solidarity with them and condemning the attacks.
