Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke by phone to his Iranian counterpart and several other regional diplomats Saturday about ways to "end the attacks" triggered by Israel-US strikes on Iran, a ministry source said.

During his talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, "the latest developments in our region were discussed and possible steps to end the attacks," the source said, indicating he had also discussed this with his counterparts from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Syria, Egypt and Indonesia.

Turkey on Saturday called on "all parties" to end the spiral of violence initiated with US-Israeli strikes on Iran, and broadened with Tehran's retaliation against Gulf states and Israel.

"The events that began with Israel and the US attacking Iran, and continued with Iran targeting third countries, are of a nature that risks the future of our region and global stability," a foreign ministry statement said, urging "all parties to cease hostilities immediately".
