- White House Official to TIB: 'Nothing We Heard Today Reduces Our Concern About Iran’s Current Trajectory'

In an exclusive statement given to This is Beirut, a senior official in the White House expressed growing impatience with Iran regarding today’s nuclear talks.
The official said that “we did not go into these talks expecting easy answers, and nothing we heard today reduces our concern about Iran’s current trajectory, especially its nuclear work, its regional interference, and its unwillingness so far to widen the scope of serious accountability.”
“The administration’s view is that dialogue only has value if it produces measurable restraint and transparency, not delay tactics or symbolic gestures and we are prepared for a long, uneven road if that is what reality requires,” they added. “The future of this relationship will depend less on what is said in meeting rooms and more on whether Iran chooses de-escalation over leverage, because patience in Washington is not unlimited and neither is our tolerance for strategic ambiguity.”
