Intensive diplomatic efforts are taking place between Iran, Qatar, and other countries in the region, Doha's foreign ministry spokesman said Tuesday, after Tehran confirmed talks with the U.S.

"I can confirm that efforts are continuing very intensively in these hours and days," foreign ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari told reporters, saying Qatar was working in "tandem with all of our neighbors," including Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.
