Information Minister Paul Morcos said on Monday, following the Cabinet meeting, that Prime Minister Nawaf Salam “is monitoring the implementation of the army’s plan on the issue of weapons through monthly reports.”
He announced that the government had approved most of the items on its agenda, including the appointment of the members of the General Authority for Museums.
The Cabinet also reviewed a presentation by Education Minister Rima Karamé on the dossier of tenured positions at the Lebanese University. Ministers requested additional details ahead of further discussion at the next session.
Morcos added that the government had heard from Environment Minister Tamara Zain regarding the environmental and topographical survey of the Beirut port grain silos and had formed a ministerial committee tasked with issuing recommendations.
The session, chaired by Nawaf Salam at the Grand Serail, was attended by most ministers as well as representatives of the presidency and the government’s general secretariat.
