An Israeli drone carried out three airstrikes in the area between the towns of Deir Kifa and Kfardounine in southern Lebanon. One of the strikes targeted an excavator (poclain) operating in the same area.
The Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health said in a statement that “the Israeli enemy’s strike on a vehicle in the town of Deir Kifa, in the Tyre district, resulted in one martyr.”
The Israeli army then released a statement, saying it “struck and eliminated a Hezbollah terrorist who was using an engineering vehicle in an attempt to reestablish terrorist infrastructure that had been struck during Operation “Northern Arrows”, in the Dounine area in southern Lebanon.”
“The terrorist’s activities constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon”, the statement added.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that heightened security measures were observed in the town of Touline, in the Marjayoun district, after the discovery of an unidentified device bearing Hebrew inscriptions.
Specialized units from the Lebanese security services have begun examining the object on-site, both technically and operationally, to determine its nature and whether it is part of equipment used for field surveillance or targeting operations.
According to initial information, investigations are underway to verify whether the device is connected to target-acquisition systems or field data-gathering tools, amid increased Israeli technical activity along the southern border.
