Israeli warplanes are carrying out a large-scale assault, launching dozens of air raids on the area and the valleys surrounding the towns of Ansar, Sinay, and Zarariya in south Lebanon.
Intense airstrikes also targeted the area between the towns of Ansar, Sinay, and Bsafourah, marking one of the sharpest escalations in recent weeks.
According to Israel’s Channel 12, the strikes hit a cement factory and warehouses used by Hezbollah to rehabilitate infrastructure. The Israeli military stated that the air force targeted facilities belonging to Hezbollah and the organization “Green Without Borders” in southern Lebanon.
Israeli media reported that the Israeli army used GBU missiles in the airstrikes on southern Lebanon.
Israeli army Arabic spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, said “the Israeli army struck Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure and facilities belonging to the ‘Green Without Borders’ association in southern Lebanon.”
“A short while ago, fighter jets targeted Hezbollah infrastructure in the Mazraat al-Sinay area in southern Lebanon. These sites had been used in reconstruction efforts,” Adraee said, adding that a quarry used by Hezbollah to produce cement for rebuilding and restoring facilities and infrastructure destroyed during the “Iron Swords” war—particularly during “Operation Northern Arrows”—was hit.
Adraee indicated that Hezbollah had used the “Green Without Borders” association to conceal terrorist activities aimed at rebuilding the organization’s infrastructure in southern Lebanon under an alleged civilian cover.
Earlier strikes, Adraee said targeted Hezbollah’s “underground infrastructure” used for storing weapons in the south and the Bekaa.
In a post on X, Adraee accused the Iran-backed group of “persisting in attempts to rebuild terrorist infrastructure across Lebanon,” calling the actions a “blatant violation” of previous understandings between Israel and Lebanon. He stressed that the Israeli army “will continue to act to eliminate any threat” against Israel.
In the northern Beqaa, one person was injured in two Israeli airstrikes on the town of Shmestar, west of Baalbeck, and was later transferred to a hospital. Initial reports indicated that the strikes hit houses targeted in earlier raids.
In southern Lebanon, an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on the Abu Manadil area, on the outskirts of Blida in the Marjayoun district, as residents were harvesting olives.
Simultaneously, Israeli forces were observed expanding and reinforcing the occupied outpost at Jal al-Deir, on the eastern edge of Aitaroun, as part of ongoing fortification work in the area.
According to field reports, additional airstrikes targeted several locations across the south, including the area between Roumine and Houmine, Khirbet Doueir between Sarafand and al-Bissarieh, Wadi Kafraoua–Zefta, and between Nmairiya and Kawthariyat al-Sayyad.
Further south, an Israeli aircraft dropped a stun bomb near Ras al-Naqoura, while another raid struck Wadi Bnaafoul in the Saida district. Two more strikes were later reported between Wadi Bnaafoul and Houmine al-Tahta.
Israeli reconnaissance drones were also seen flying at very low altitudes over Nabatiyeh, Kfarjouz, al-Kfour and Toul, sparking concern among residents.
In a separate development, Israeli forces opened heavy machine-gun fire on the outskirts of Khiam, in what observers described as a direct escalation of ground operations along the border.
Meanwhile, Israeli drones launched additional strikes on the Ali al-Taher area, north of Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa, and the vicinity of Kawthariyat al-Sayyad. Earlier in the day, the outskirts of Aitaroun also came under heavy gunfire from the newly established Israeli position at Jabal Blat.
