A Hamas source told Al-Hadath that the movement has agreed to hand over its weapons to a joint Palestinian-Egyptian body under international supervision as part of the Gaza plan’s initial phase.

According to reports from Arab media outlets, the Hamas delegation has arrived in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, to participate in negotiations concerning the Gaza deal.

The source said negotiations will be “quick and intense,” stressing the group’s interest in swiftly implementing the plan established by American President Donald Trump.

Hamas has reportedly received American guarantees ensuring Israel will not resume the war and that its leaders will not be harmed if they choose to leave Gaza. Their departure, however, remains a decision for Hamas leadership.

The source added that Hamas has started collecting the bodies of Israeli hostages and requested through Egypt a halt to airstrikes. The handover of living hostages will take place in one batch, while returning the bodies will take more time, with “American flexibility” on this issue.

Hamas also accused Israel of trying to derail the Gaza plan through continued bombing but vowed not to “fall into its trap,” noting that Israel is fully aware of the number of hostages, both living and dead. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that an Israeli delegation headed by Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer will travel to Egypt on Monday to discuss the plan for Gaza.
