
On Wednesday, the FIBA Asia Regional Office confirmed the official calendar for the West Asia League for the 2025-2026 FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) season.
Following the withdrawal of Iraqi club Al Difaa Al Jawii, the competition will ultimately feature five teams: Sagesse (Lebanon), Riyadi Beirut (Lebanon), Shahrdari Gorgan (Iran), Al Wahda SC (Syria), and BC Astana (Kazakhstan).
The group stage will kick off on November 5 in Beirut with a prestigious match between La Sagesse and Shahrdari Gorgan. The following day, defending champions Riyadi will begin their quest for a fourth consecutive title by hosting Al Wahda SC.

The group stage, which will end on February 19, will be played in a home-and-away format. The top four teams will qualify for the best-of-three semifinals. The two finalists, as well as the winner of the third-place match, will earn their ticket to the Final 8.
However, the fourth-placed team in the group will still have a chance to qualify, as it will face the fourth-placed team in the WASL-Gulf League for the last available ticket.
With two Lebanese representatives, Sagesse and Riyadi, Lebanon is once again set to be a major player in this edition of the WASL.
