The Lebanese touch rugby team is participating in the second edition of the Atlantic Youth Touch Cup, organized by the University of Limerick in Ireland from July 31 to August 3, under the supervision of the International and Irish Touch Rugby Federations.
The Lebanese delegation, which left Beirut at dawn on Tuesday, is represented by three teams: the senior men's team, the U18 team (mixed) and the U15 team (men's).
The tournament brings together 45 teams from 12 countries: Lebanon, Belgium, Wales, England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Ukraine, South Africa, China and the Cayman Islands. It is the largest international competition ever organized in touch rugby.
The competition will begin on August 1, with matches between the Lebanese teams and Ireland, the Cayman Islands and South Africa.
The first edition of the tournament took place in Nottingham, England, in 2023.
