A new targeted Israeli strike hit the southern Lebanese town of Baraachit, in the Bint Jbeil district, on Friday afternoon. At around 1 PM, an Israeli drone struck a vehicle, killing its driver — reportedly a member of Hezbollah, according to Al-Hadath media. Another individual was also reportedly wounded in the attack, according to the Ministry of Health.
In a separate incident, Bassam Soueid, a member of the municipal council in the town of Dhaira (Tyre district), was injured by gunfire while returning to his village. A report by the Ministry of Health stated, “A citizen was wounded in Dhayra after Israeli forces opened fire in his direction.” Soueid was taken to the Lebanese-Italian Hospital in Tyre for treatment.
Meanwhile, in Mays al-Jabal, an Israeli drone dropped a sound bomb, no casualties were reported.
Israeli drones were also reported flying at low altitude over Beirut and its southern suburb on Friday.
Meanwhile, residents of Aita al-Shaab voiced their growing frustration over repeated Israeli attacks and the perceived silence of national authorities. In a statement released on Friday, villagers denounced the intensifying strikes on their town, “Not a day goes by without a young man from our village being targeted,” they said, referring to the recent death of Moustafa Harisi.
Harisi, a local scrap collector, was killed on Thursday afternoon in an Israeli drone strike on Aita al-Shaab.
