After a month of intense competition on the greens of Jnah, young Sari Abi Haidar surged ahead of the field to claim the prestigious Junior Ryder Cup.
It took nerves of steel, a precision swing, and unshakable composure to go all the way. Sari Abi Haidar triumphed in the final of the Junior Ryder Cup golf tournament, organized by the Lebanese Federation on the courses of the Golf Club of Beirut in Jnah. Facing Daniel Khalaf in the final, Sari delivered a high-level performance, confirming his status as a rising star.
A Knockout Tournament
Twenty young golfers took part in this edition, marked by discipline and passion. Divided into two teams coached respectively by captains Rima Arab and Tony Bou Serhal, the participants faced off over the course of a month in a single-elimination Match Play format—just like the real Ryder Cup.
A Controlled Final
Sari Abi Haidar didn’t flinch in the home stretch. In the final, up against a determined Daniel Khalaf, he managed to impose his rhythm and executed his game with authority. Khalaf bowed out with honor, earning a well-deserved runner-up spot.
Ceremony at the Jnah Club
The trophy ceremony took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, in the presence of Federation and Golf Club President Karim Salaam, Vice President Maher Beydoun, Secretary General Nizar Zain, Sheikh Moussa Zain, Shafiqa Salaam, and many proud parents who came to congratulate the young talents.
Words of Encouragement
In his speech, Karim Salaam praised Sari Abi Haidar’s victory and congratulated all the participants for their dedication. He emphasized the importance of such tournaments for “building competitive spirit and developing the talents of the younger categories.”
The Ryder Cup Spirit
Inspired by the famous biennial competition between the United States and Europe, the Lebanese junior version preserves the unique flavor of Match Play and the team spirit that defines this format. A great way to introduce young players to the demands of high-level competition.
