The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday the seizure of 500,000 Captagon pills hidden in a car coming from Lebanon, in the Syrian area of al-Nabek, near the Lebanese-Syrian border.
According to the ministry’s statement, agents also discovered “500 packets of hashish and 165 kilograms of cannabis.”
The ministry did not identify the traffickers, stating only that two individuals were arrested during the operation that led to the vehicle’s seizure.
A day prior, Syrian authorities had also seized a large quantity of the same drugs during a similar operation, which, unlike this one, involved an exchange of gunfire with the traffickers in the same area.
