A new wave of missiles launched from Iran targeted multiple locations across Israel, triggering nationwide air raid sirens, in the early hours of Monday morning.

Red alerts were issued for several major cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa, where missiles, reportedly fired from Isfahan, struck urban areas. Loud explosions were heard over both cities as Israel’s air defense systems engaged incoming threats in an attempt to intercept them.

Israeli media outlets reported that at least 100 missiles were launched in the attack, with explosions registered near Ben Gurion Airport, east of Tel Aviv, as well as in Haifa, Eilat, and west of Jerusalem. According to those same sources, at least six missiles struck Tel Aviv and Haifa, hitting residential buildings and causing widespread power outages in several neighborhoods in the northern part of Israel. A power plant was struck in Haifa. At least 6 people were killed and 100 injured, according to Al-Hadath.

Emergency crews were active in all the targeted city.

An Iranian missile also reportedly destroyed several shelters in Petah Tikva, in central Israel.

In the minutes leading up to the assault, Israel’s Home Front Command had already urged residents in several regions to stay near protected shelters. Shortly after the missile launches began, the military confirmed its air defense systems were activated to "intercept the threat" and instructed the public to remain in shelters until further notice. Within half an hour, the military announced that the immediate danger had passed.

Authorities also urged citizens to avoid public gatherings and to limit movement in public spaces to essential activities only.
