The Israeli military has announced that more than 100 targets across Iran were struck overnight in a large-scale air operation involving over 200 fighter jets. According to the Israeli army, the operation successfully eliminated three senior leaders of the Iranian military and security establishment.

The army named the high-ranking figures reportedly killed as Mohammad Bagheri, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces; Hossein Salami, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps; and Gholam Ali Rashid, the commander of the Iranian Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters.

A spokesperson for the Israeli army confirmed that the strikes targeted key hideouts of senior military officials and that the operation had been in planning for a long time. The military emphasized that Iran had been seeking to develop a nuclear bomb in the shortest possible timeframe, which justified the preemptive attack.

Brigadier General Efi Deferin stated that Iran launched over 100 drones toward Israel in response. Israeli forces are actively working to intercept them. He added that the army is on high alert, and credited the operation’s success to advanced intelligence capabilities.
