An Israeli drone strike targeted a parked car outside a residential home in the town of Beit Leif, in ssouthern Lebanon’s Bint Jbeil district, killing one person and injuring three others, the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday.

Also Wednesday, an Israeli infantry unit reportedly advanced into the outskirts of the southern Lebanese village of Kfar Kila on Wednesday, approaching the border wall, in a move that marks a significant escalation along the southern frontier.

Earlier at dawn, more than 50 Israeli soldiers crossed the Blue Line in the Bir Choueib area, east of the town of Blida. The troops, accompanied by two bulldozers, began excavation work at a site previously identified by the Lebanese Army as the scene of earlier violations.

In parallel, Israeli warplanes were seen flying at low altitudes over the Beqaa Valley and the Baalbeck-Hermel region, fueling fears of a widening conflict.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Army conducted an inspection operation in the Sainte Therese area of Beirut’s southern suburbs on Wednesday afternoon. Acting on a request from the Ceasefire Monitoring Committee, troops used an excavator to examine a building amid growing security concerns tied to recent Israeli airstrikes.

The army then informed the ceasefire Monitoring Committee that no military facilities or equipment were found at the site identified for inspection in the al-Hadath–St. Therese area.

The statement followed a four-hour search and excavation operation at a building designated by the Committee. The LAF has since concluded its mission and withdrawn from the location.

Earlier in the day, a residential building on Abdel Nour Street in the suburb collapsed. The structure had been targeted in an Israeli strike last Thursday.
