On the road linking the localities of Mansouri and Majdel Zoun, in the caza of Tyre, a motorcycle was targeted by a drone strike on Tuesday morning. The strike killed one person believed to be a member of Hezbollah, according to the Israeli Army. Lebanon’s Ministry of Health states that nine people were wounded, according to a preliminary report.

The strike is part of a series of near-daily targeted Israeli operations against Hezbollah members.

In the latest developments on Tuesday, Israeli artillery targeted the Azraeen area near Kfarchouba, while the Samaqa outpost also opened fire on the same location. Additionally, an Israeli drone dropped an explosive device on fishermen off the coast of Ras al-Naqoura, an attack that was repeated later the same day, causing damage to a Rapid-brand vehicle but no reported injuries, according to the National News Agency (NNA).

The NNA also reported that an Israeli drone dropped a sonic bomb near the town of Kfar Kila, escalating tensions along the volatile southern border.

In the caza of Bint Jbeil, and more specifically in the village of Ainata, a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) patrol was intercepted after entering a residential area. Another incident was reported where several residents of Shaqra in southern Lebanon intercepted a UNIFIL patrol. The residents prevented the patrol from entering the town without a Lebanese Army escort. For its part, the Shaqra–Doubieh Municipality denied social media claims of gunfire during the interception of a UNIFIL patrol in Shaqra.

These incidents are not the first of this nature. Last Friday, UN soldiers were prevented from entering a private property in the village of Jmaijmeh, also in Bint Jbeil. Altercations ensued between residents and the peacekeepers before the Lebanese army intervened to defuse the standoff.

Earlier in May, residents blocked the passage of a UN convoy in Abbasiyeh, near Tyre. They considered it an unjustified intrusion.
