Renowned artist Rosy Daniel returns to the Beirut art scene with Echoes of Summer, a new solo exhibition curated by Dr. Tony Karam, opening on May 8 at Rebirth Beirut Space in Gemmayze.

Lebanese artist Rosy Daniel is set to present a captivating new collection in her solo exhibition Echoes of Summer, a deeply personal and evocative body of work. Opening on May 8, 2025, the exhibition will launch with an evening reception from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Hosted at Rebirth Beirut Space, located in the heart of Gemmayze, the show will remain open to the public from May 9 to 16, between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM daily, except on Sundays.

As spring awakens the earth and ushers in a season of renewal, Daniel’s new works capture the elusive spirit of summer—its warmth, light and movement—with remarkable delicacy. Her brushwork invites viewers to step into serene coastal scenes, where figures drift over calm waters and soft pink skies reflect the lingering glow of afternoon light. With an eye for subtlety, she manages to evoke the sensation of sunlight on skin and the hush of waves brushing against the shore. Each canvas becomes a portal to a moment both intimate and universally nostalgic.

Rosy Daniel’s artistic voice is rooted in her personal history and the rich, layered landscape of Beirut. Her paintings often explore themes of memory, place and the passage of time. She is especially drawn to human presence, both known and imagined, capturing emotion and story through expressive portraits and textured surfaces.

Growing up in the dynamic contrasts of Beirut, Daniel’s landscapes reflect a city of deep heritage and modern transformation. The juxtaposition of old stone facades and sleek contemporary structures mirrors the layered nature of her work, where history and present-day blur into a dreamlike continuity. Her connection to the Mediterranean coast is a recurring motif, a space that embodies movement, light and the ephemeral quality of memory.

Echoes of Summer is a continuation of this exploration. Inspired by summers spent along the sea, the works translate fleeting moments into tactile expressions of color and form. From the shimmer of water to the warmth of sun-washed rocks, Daniel evokes the textures of time itself. Her paintings become meditative spaces where personal stories resonate with shared human experiences, inviting viewers to reflect, remember and feel.
