On Tuesday, the Israeli army carried out a series of strikes on Sanaa's Houthi-held international airport, in retaliation for the latter's firing of a missile against Tel Aviv two days earlier.
Those raids targeted civilian aircraft, the passenger terminal, and the take-off and landing runways, according to Israeli medias. The al-Doulaimi air base, north of the capital, the Dhahban power plant in Bani al-Harith, as well as oil installations and service stations were also targeted, according to Israeli Channel 12.

In all, the Israeli army attacked around ten targets, while more than twenty explosions were reported by the local media.
The Israeli army's Arabic-speaking spokesman, Avichay Adraee, then claimed on the X social network that the army “recently attacked and destroyed infrastructure belonging to the terrorist Houthi regime at Sanaa's central airport, resulting in the airport's complete closure.”
He added that “several power plants were also attacked in the Sanaa region”, as well as “the Al-Omran cement factory, located north of Sanaa, was also attacked”. “It is considered one of the Houthis' most important resources for building tunnels and military infrastructure”, he added.

Shortly after the strikes, Houthi leader Mohammed al-Boukhaiti threatened the Hebrew state that the pro-Iranian group would respond “to escalation with escalation”.
“Our fight against the United States, the United Kingdom and Israel will continue until the aggression against Gaza ends”, he added.
Call to Evacuate
Earlier in the day, Israel's military told civilians to evacuate the airport area in Yemen's Huthi-controlled capital Sanaa, one day after it struck targets in the Arabian Peninsula country's port of Hodeida.
"We urge you to immediately evacuate the airport area and warn anyone nearby to do the same and stay away from the area. Failing to evacuate may put you at risk," spokesman Colonel Avichay Adraee posted on X in Arabic after Yemen's Iran-backed Huthis struck the area of Israel's main Ben Gurion airport on Sunday.

Meanwhile, two squadrons of fighter jets took off from an Israeli military base, before heading for Yemen. For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu joined the army headquarters in Kirya to monitor the operation, according to Israeli Channel 14.
