
In a development welcomed by Lebanese farmers, Jordan will officially begin allowing imports of Lebanese lemons–all varieties included–starting May 10, 2025.
The Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture announced on Sunday that it had granted import licenses for Lebanese lemons. Applications for these licenses opened on Saturday, May 3, and will be accepted until Tuesday, May 6, the ministry confirmed.
Lebanese Minister of Agriculture Nizar Hani praised his Jordanian counterpart, Khaled Hneifat, for his swift response and support. Hani described the decision as a meaningful boost for Lebanon’s agricultural sector and a step toward strengthening agricultural ties between the two countries.
