Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem announced that his party is currently conducting a comprehensive evaluation encompassing security, military, political, and cultural domains, aiming to review its performance and draw lessons from recent developments.
In an interview with Majallat Iqtidar magazine on Saturday, he stated that "Hezbollah is an influential player on the Lebanese domestic scene, alongside the Amal Movement and our allies. We will continue our efforts in accordance with our national project aimed at preserving Lebanon’s sovereignty and independence."
He emphasized the need for cooperation with all forces, parties, and sects "to revive the country's economy, rebuild areas destroyed by Israel, recover bank deposits, combat corruption, and establish the rule of law."
Regarding the normalization of ties between certain Arab states and Israel, he declared that "the goal of this normalization is to liquidate the Palestinian cause, and Lebanon will also be targeted in an effort to weaken its resistance."
"We cannot continue at the same pace as before. The evaluation must be comprehensive in order to build a new phase, while upholding the party’s fundamental principles — chief among them, the resistance. As for the methods, they can be discussed and adjusted,” he concluded.
