The Secretary General of the Lebanese Olympic Committee, Jawdat Chaker, issued the following statement:
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Nora Bayrakdarian, took three decisions on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, concerning the deregistration of the following disciplines: skateboarding, modern pentathlon and surfing.
These disciplines have been removed from the licenses of sports associations due to the loss of the essential condition that enabled their initial approval, as well as their non-compliance with the legal, technical and specific requirements specific to each of them.
The minister also decided to set up a committee to manage each of the disciplines concerned.
