
A Hezbollah member has been killed on Tuesday following an Israeli drone strike that targeted a vehicle on the Aitaroun road near the southern town of Bint Jbeil.
“A drone attacked the region of Aitaroun in southern Lebanon earlier today and eliminated the commander of a unit in Hezbollah's special operations division,” said Arabic-speaking Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee on X.
The Public Health Emergency Operations Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Public Health, announced in a statement that the drone strike resulted in one fatality and three injuries, including a child.
According to local sources, the vehicle, identified as a Renault Rapid, was struck by two missiles launched from an Israeli drone, causing significant damage and wounding those inside.
In a separate incident, the Israeli army opened fire with machine guns near the town of Mays al-Jabal, in what appeared to be an attempt to intimidate residents. No injuries were reported in that episode, but the gunfire caused panic among civilians in the area.
Furthermore, Israeli reconnaissance drones continued to hover over the towns of Kfar Hammam and Kfarchouba, maintaining a persistent aerial presence.
Earlier on Tuesday, an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on agricultural workers harvesting tobacco in Aita al-Shaab, and no casualties were reported,
