- Many Areas Remain Inaccessible in Myanmar Following the Earthquake
A violent earthquake struck Myanmar and Thailand on Friday, leaving 1,644 people dead and 3,408 missing in Myanmar. Many areas remain inaccessible and rescue teams are working to free people trapped in collapsed buildings.
The earthquake caused massive destruction in Myanmar, where buildings were reduced to rubble, bridges were damaged and roads cracked. In Bangkok, a 30-storey skyscraper under construction collapsed. Rescuers continue to search through the rubble to save trapped workers.
