US warplanes carried out four strikes on Thursday evening against Houthi positions in the Al-Kathib region, in the Al-Minaa district of the Yemeni province of Al-Hodeida.

These strikes come just hours after the Israeli army announced that it had intercepted a missile fired from Yemen early on Thursday morning, against a backdrop of intensifying hostilities with the Houthis and threats by US President Donald Trump to sanction Iran for its support of the Yemeni armed group.

As a reminder, the US strikes, initiated on Saturday in retaliation for Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea, constitute the largest US military operation in the Middle East since Trump took office in January. According to the Houthis, the strikes killed at least 31 people.

On Monday, Trump said he would hold Iran responsible for any future Houthi attacks, warning of serious consequences.
