Two people were killed and three others wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting a motorcycle in the Yohmor al-Shaqif area of Nabatiyeh, the Public Health Emergency Operations Center reported on Monday morning.
The Israeli army stated that the strike targeted “two Hezbollah members who were operating and directing terrorist activities” in the region. In a post on X, Israeli army Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee claimed that the targeted persons were reconnaissance agents involved in planning attacks. Neither the Israeli army nor Hezbollah identified the casualties.
Adraee also accused Hezbollah of a “flagrant violation” of the ceasefire agreement and vowed continued operations. “We will continue to attack armed terrorists in southern Lebanon and act to eliminate any threat to Israel,” he said.
Despite a ceasefire in place since November 2024, military tensions remain high. On Sunday evening, an Israeli helicopter launched missiles at the village of Yaroun in Bint Jbeil caza, while flares were fired over Mazraat al-Mjaydiye in Hasbaya.
Shortly after midnight, Israeli soldiers reportedly infiltrated areas near Khallet Warde and Hadab Aïta, close to Aïta al-Shaab.
