$2.5 Million Destined for Hezbollah Seized at BIA

The Finance Ministry announced on Friday that the Passenger and Duty-Free Department of the Lebanese Customs Authority seized $2.5 million from a traveler arriving from Turkey at Beirut International Airport (BIA).

According to Reuters, the funds were destined for Hezbollah.

On the advice of the prosecutor of the Cassation Court, the passenger was detained, and the funds were confiscated and handed over to the investigation department of the Directorate of General Security.
