In the final, the Lebanese players outclassed Syria 4-0, completing a flawless tournament and proving that they are indeed the regional benchmark.
A Steamroller-like Journey
From the kickoff, Joseph Mouawad’s protégées set their pace. A serious start against Syria (2-0) set the tone, before a recital against Palestine (4-0) validated their ticket to the semifinals. In the semifinal, Bahrain could do nothing against the Lebanese machine (3-0), falling victim to an impenetrable defense and a surgical attack.
A Final Without Suspense
The Syrians hoped to overturn the hierarchy, but the Cedars did not come to make up the numbers. Yasmine Habbal opened hostilities in the 29th minute, then struck again right after the break (49th). Yara Geitani (54th) and Sara Issa (57th) completed the offensive festival. Solid at the back, lethal up front, the Lebanese dominated from start to finish, finishing the tournament with a clean sheet.
