Two decades after the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, the Lebanese people remain divided over his legacy.
The commemoration, held in downtown Beirut, may also signal a turning point for his son, Saad Hariri, who announced the return of his movement, the Future Movement, to Lebanon’s political scene.
Saad Hariri, who succeeded his father before stepping away from politics in 2022, addressed a crowd of thousands of his supporters this Friday.
