Football – Lebanese Championship: Ansar, Safa and Ahed Remain Unbeaten

The fifth matchday of the Lebanese Premier League was marked by Tadamon Tyr’s humiliating 4-0 loss against al-Ahed. This loss saw them drop a position in the standings, as Sagesse took their spot after a 1-0 win. On the other hand, al-Ahed maintained their perfect run of five successive wins, cementing their place at the top.

After a challenging 1-0 win against al-Borj, Ansar also remained perfect, maintaining a tight grip on the top spot. Not far behind, al-Safa completed a commanding 2-0 victory over al-Nejme, winning all of their games as well.

Al-Ahed’s Mohammad Nasser and Zein Farran lead the top scorers’ charts with 5 goals each. Sagesse’s Pape Laye Ding also has 5 goals to his name. 

With the league shaping up to be a three-horse race, here are the standings after the fifth gameweek:
